Lead, Guide and Provide

Lead, Guide and Provide

Lead, Guide and Provide…

This is what we should all be asking of God.

That He will lead us, that He will guide us and that He will provide for us.

If we want God to lead us, we must follow that leading, but do we?

We follow many different people each and every day. We follow those in authority over us and those we think have more knowledge about certain things then we do. We follow those we are interested in or admire. We also follow the desires of our hearts for good and sadly sometimes for bad.

But how many of us truly follow God?

If we believe that He created the world and everything in it, as we say we do in church, then surely He would be someone we look to who has authority.

Why don’t we follow Him more closely?

And if He did create everything, He certainly has more knowledge about everything then we do.

Why don’t we follow Him more closely?

We should admire Him for all He has created and done for us and with us; and we should be interested in Him and want to know more about Him.

So, why don’t we follow Him more closely?

I’ll give you the reason we don’t and it comes down to that last sentence in the paragraph above, “We also follow the desires of our hearts for good and sadly sometimes for bad.”

We want to please ourselves more then we want to please God. To many of us, God and His Son Jesus are just out of reach. God is the “big guy” out there somewhere. Jesus is great and died for us, but that was a long time ago and He can’t possibly care about what goes on in our lives today.

Our heart leads us in ways that satisfy our fleshly desires, for sex, power, wealth, drugs, booze and any number of things that can be destructive to our lives. Like a little child, we want what we want, and we want it now. And that desire fights against giving in to God and where He would lead us.

We want FUN, or to ESCAPE what is going on around us in this life, don’t we?

God, we think doesn’t want us to have FUN. He’s a kill joy… And nothing could be further from the truth. God loves us SO MUCH that HE came to the earth as a child and lived among us. Jesus is God made man, Immanuel, which means, “God With US.”

Through Jesus, God allowed Himself to suffer and die on a cross so that we, His creation, could be reconciled with Him and live forever in His presence. You want to have FUN and JOY in your life and to ESCAPE the woes of this world, then follow Jesus and look for where HE will lead you.

There is great Joy in following Jesus. He said that His burden is easy, and His load is light, but we don’t think of it that way.

Why? Because out heart is fighting to retain control over where Jesus would lead us.

Remember, we want what we want and we want it now. We think God is going to call on us to do something or go somewhere that we will not like or that will be too hard on us.

But we forget that God knows us, knows all about us. He knows the things that make us happy and fulfilled. He knows us inside and out and He will not tell us to do something that He hasn’t prepared us for, designed us for. So if we follow God’s leading, even if it seems outside our comfort zone, once you start down His road, you find the task will bring you joy and will provide that escape you’ve been seeking from the day to day grind of this life.

Jesus brings Life to You, because death could not hold HIM.

So, open your hearts and let Jesus lead you, you’ll be surprised what fun it can be.

Once you have opened your heart to Him, let Him Guide you.

When I was first given the call to “Wake The Churches” I had no idea how to do such and thing. But step by step God has guided me. First to the domain name, wakethechurches.com and to the money needed to build the first version of this site. Then He led me to write my book, “Christ in My Life; Called to Wake the Churches” and guided me to where I could get it published and out there for anyone to buy. And then He guided my steps to recreate this website as a blog and how to rebuild it.

Where will He lead me tomorrow? I don’t know, but I know He will continue to lead and guide me in this work He has given me to do.

What is He leading you to do? What guidance is He giving you Right NOW?

Is He asking you to open your heart to Him more, to let Him in? Is He guiding you to learn more about Him and His word?

We need to be aware of what God is doing in our lives and where He is leading and guiding us.

He may guide us through the study of His word, or through a person, even an unbeliever. God can use anyone to help us understand where He wants us to go and what He wants us to do.

Listen for His voice or the words that He may place in your heart. He is speaking to you right know, if you will only listen and hear what He has to say.

And if God is leading you and guiding you, then He will provide what you need to do the work He has put on your heart to do.

When God put in on my heart to have a presence on the web money was tight, but He provide the money I needed to buy the domain name and start with a company to host the first site. When He called Ginny and I to move back to Minnesota, He provide a way to do that. Even when it seemed impossible to buy a house, He provided a way to do that and even got the price of the house down to where we could afford it.

When I needed the time and the money to write my book, He provided it, and the book got written.

If God is leading you, guiding you to do some work for Him, for Jesus and the Gospel, He will make a way. He will provide what you need to get the job done.

There is nothing that God cannot do in your life if you will just let Him do it.

So, I say to you…

  • Let God Lead You!
  • Let God Guide You!
  • Let God Provide for You!

If you let God Lead, Guide and Provide, you will be blown away by what the two of you can do.

May God Bless you as you listen to His leading, watch for His Guiding and Wait for His Providing.

If God is in it, it will get done and it will be fun.
